Where Vision Gets Built: Lehman Brothers, 745 Seventh Ave., New York
On the eve of the great recession, this documentary portrait of Lehman Brothers’ New York headquarters was produced as part of on-going study in how video contributes to shaping public space. The piece examines the building’s integration of screens into its architecture, the juxtaposition of natural images with the surrounding city-scape, and the firm’s provocative claim to construct “vision” – which, it turns out, soon lead the American economy over a cliff.
